First, Bobo's story is coming in a few days as is Trixie's. Life's been busy lately rescuing abandoned companion pets.
To Those Who Comment: Please make sure you read the blog carefully. No where did I write that Miss Piggy was blind! And of course she's being cared for now.
For goodness sakes I visited in 2008 when she was in dire need of attention. Once I made her condition public she was clipped, cleaned, though continued to rest in that nasty barn. But thank goodness the farm animals did get cleaner water containers.
So bloggers, be careful. Be thoughtful. Read before you speak and then make sure you speak factually! Otherwise it kinda makes you look foolish..............

I was speaking about the floors inside the building where it was stated there were no rugs for the cats to lay on or no toys around. The floors were being cleaned at that time

Not to mention that Miss Piggy is so obese (yes, a pig can be fat) that she can not see. She is so fat that her fat rolls cover her eyes, causing her total blindness. You can tell by the picture. I have seen this before. She needs to lose a ton of weight! They are probably not feeding her the correct diet for a pig... I WILL be out there soon to take pics... I promise.

What is not factualabout that statement? Have you seen the pig?? When fat rolls cover your eyes, I woukld imagine you couldn't see. And I am not the person who wrote the original remark.
It was I that made that comment. I was making that comment based on the picture that is on here. I have worked with and rescued animals my whole life, and am very knowledgable in swine and other farm animal. In that picture, Miss Piggy is so obese that you can see with the human naked eye that she has fat rolls over her eyes. A proven fact that obese pig with fat rolls over covering thier eyes can not see. If they lose weight, and the fat roll subside, and her eyes are in a condition to see, then she shall see. Again, my point is that she is so obese she can no see.
Thank God we have some comments that contain sanity and thoughtfulness.
The most sane thing to do is to stop this onslaught of a shelter.
Shelter is a term that should be used loosly where WVHS is concerned. One could call Tomoka State Prison a "shelter" too.Both contain prisioners.

If anything about this story is remotely true, I do not understand why some national animal rights org. has not challenged this operation in court. It's an appalling indictment of the local govt. in Volusia County.
Miss Piggy was on a diet of fresh veggies daily and
a limited amount of livestock food.I used to help feed her.
